Wild Bloom Botanicals Brand Design

Plant allies, bioavailable botanical medicines to support you through the conscious evolution & embodiment of your avatar. May these remedies be an anchor & light for you in the times.

Wild Bloom Botanicals is run by holistic nutritional consultant and herbalist Alicia Hamilton on Treaty 6 in Western Canada, offering ancient medicine through e-comm, the 124 Street Grand Market, and select brick-and-mortar retailers.

I had the opportunity to refresh the look and feel of Wild Bloom Botanicals from the ground up with rebranding, creative direction, and digital design. I recreated the logo, over 40 label designs, hand drawn illustrations and the brand guidelines, as well as provided photography and digital marketing collateral. We believe everyone should feel empowered with the wisdom of herbal medicine.

The old face of the Wild Bloom Botanicals brand was concise and memorable but lacked the flexibility and strength that is essential for the increasingly diverse ecosystem of offerings to express themselves best.

The new identity no longer functions this way. The primary identifiers in the wordmark were simplified and streamlined. Secondary elements also support visual integrity while allowing for flexibility so different aspects of the brand experience can be expressed without diluting the new brand expression.

The earthy colour palette is to be used in accordance with the WCAG guidelines to ensure proper colour contrast and universal accessibility. Gold evokes a sense of optimism and timelessness while the beige and brown invite a sense of peace, groundedness, recovery and comfort. Pink was carried over from the old branding as an accent colour to keep a sense of freshness and playfulness.

A psychedelic approach is taken to the Seed of Life. The repeating layers are reminiscent of the many layers of the Self, evoking the movement of a spiral or of the breath, a process of expansion and becoming more alive with the help of herbal remedies. The new look is authoritative, inviting, and backed by a sense of professionalism without losing a sense of mystery.
